The story »behind the game«

This game was played at parties and weddings in the past. People had no CD players, radios or other music equipment at home so larger events were the only opportunities for people to listen to music and play this game at the same time.

Instructions / rules:

The chairs (or pieces of paper or anything else that could mark the position where the player is standing) should be placed in a circle, one less than the number of players. One player is in charge of playing the music (or singing/clapping). When the music stops, the players sit on the chairs (stand on the papers), and the player who is left without a chair/paper is out of the game. The winner is the last player to have a chair/paper. The game doesn’t take too much time so we can repeat depending on the students’ interest.
