The story »behind the game«

As you don’t need any equipment or materials except for a blindfold for this game, it could be played anywhere all year round. In the past, children mostly played it while watching cattle in the fields.

Instructions / rules:

One player is blindfolded. He/she spins around and the others move in a circle around him/her. When the blindfolded player says, “Where are you standing, bat?”, the other players have to stand still in one place. When the blindfolded player touches another player, he/she must keep still and be silent. The blindfolded player has one chance to guess whom he touched. If he guesses, the players switch roles. If he doesn’t guess, the game starts from the beginning.
